SBTC sent a letter to the leaders of the House and Senate Small Business Committees, as well as the Senate Commerce & Technology and House Science Committees voicing our opposition to the TRANSFER Act. This proposed legislation would strip about $80 million annually from the STTR program to create a new innovation program for universities only. SBTC believes that small businesses are the backbone of American innovation, and that the SBIR and STTR programs are the best in the world at developing new technologies, so taking money away from small businesses to give to universities would only hamper innovation in the US, not help it.
