The SBTC this week sent a letter to the NIH SBIR program office highlighting certain concerns our members have had regarding changes to indirect cost rates.  These changes have worried NIH companies that it may reduce payments on SBIR grants, and that they may not be in compliance with the FAR.

We hope to open lines of communication at the NIH SBIR office in the same way we have with the DCAA, and directly address the negative affect these changes and procedures are having on SBIR companies, and what can be done to ameliorate them.  We have been told that the NIH is reviewing the letter currently, and we expect to hear back from them to set up a meeting face-to-face.
